For nearly a decade, Bethesda House has provided young mothers and their babies with a safe place to live, grow, and begin building a more stable future.
We’ve walked alongside mothers as they pursue education and employment, learn new skills, strengthen their families, and work toward independence.
But when a mother is ready to graduate from Bethesda House, an important question remains:
What comes next?
For many young women, finding safe and affordable housing is one of the biggest challenges standing between where they are and where they want to be. Minimum entry-level prices range from $1,600 to $2,000 per month for standard one-bedroom apartments.
We believe there should be a next step for the young women who have put in the work at Bethesda House.
We are excited to announce that Bethesda House is preparing to purchase a two-bedroom condominium in a nearby South Shore community that will become transitional housing for young women graduating from our program.
The home will provide a safe, stable place for up to two mothers and their babies to continue moving toward independence while remaining connected to the support they have come to know at Bethesda House.
This isn’t simply another place to live.
It is a bridge between Bethesda House and the life she is working so hard to build.
She will have more independence, while still having access to the relationships, encouragement, guidance, and resources that have helped her get this far.
We see this as a natural extension of the work Bethesda House has been doing since 2016—and an exciting new chapter in our ministry.
Now, we need your help.
